COMING ATTRACTIONS! CHRISTMAS APRONS!

 

Every year I try to get my Christmas aprons  done early.  First I start collecting  the fabrics , sometimes as early as January in order to take advantage of the after Christmas sales. This year I set up an assembly line to cut and sew 7 aprons at once .Everything went pretty well until it was time to add the ruffles. I have started doing DOUBLE ruffles so this meant I had to  make 14 ruffles at once. That got kind of tedious. After cutting out and sewing the aprons I then sit and cut all loose threads  and then have to iron the aprons. Then finally it  is time to take pics and get them listed! Santa showed up just in time to help  with the pics! I will be listing  the aprons  over the next couple of days... MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!http://craftcafe.co/shop/georgiamarbles/

Chainmaille is an ancient art that dates back before the 5th century.  The process involves interweaving rings of various sizes into intricate patterns to create wearable metal art.  In ancient times, chainmaille served the useful purpose of protecting soldiers in battle; but, since there are very few jousting matches happening on modern streets, chainmaille has evolved into wearable art.  ChainmailleByMBOI creates pieces using a variety of metals including Sterling Silver, Copper, Aluminum, Brass, and Bronze.  Almost any pattern that you see can be created from a different metal so if you don’t see exactly what you are looking for, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to begin a special order for you.

All beads are created by me, Lea Avroch, in my New York studio!

Unable to work following a spine disability, I started making jewelry over 15 years ago, hence the name.
I had been making jewelry for many years and would often find myself wishing I had a particular bead. So when I found out about a beginner lampwork class at the local art league I jumped on it and was immediately hooked. I've never looked back. 
While I still make the occasional piece(s) of jewelry, my focus is on making beads. I get inspiration mostly from nature; ocean, sand, beach, flowers, etc. It's such joy to open the kiln in the morning to see the finished beads from the day before. 


It is my hope that my beads will inspire your creativity in your jewelry.
